Quantcast

I’l try to get a few more posts on the DSE up here in the next bit but one I wanted to highlight is below. Unfortunately, my little BlackBerry just doesn’t do photos justice but it’s good in a pinch.

I’ll start with this sign - simple, yet effective with a good message:

Jeff
:)

A sign doesn’t always have to be funny, it also has to be informative. I guess if you really want information, you could Google it

My business partner and I ran into this in Toronto just before we flew to Chicago. I thought it was telling of what we were about to run into. No, we weren’t going in for the brews, we were on our way back to the office….really

A huge part of Digital Signage acceptance and adoption is its ability to blend in and seem natural to the environment the screens live in. We all see screens everywhere we go and do they really need to be Black or Silver? If I’m at 7-11 and there’s a screen in there, wouldn’t it be nice and seem more natural if the bezel around it was red or green?

A company called Ovation
Ovation
caught my attention for some of the work they were doing in design around their displays:

This one is showcasing their own brand.

I like the circular cutout to this one…ambient light stole the content but you get the idea.

Helius did this one:

As an “installation” I thought this worked well.

Ultimately, this is more about environmental design but it really draws the eye. The more effort you put into the “installation” the more natural it seems, the more it draws the eye, the more people watch it and the more you can engage and inform them, making your Network more powerful.

Graeme from DW+P should really be weighing in on this more than I. You out there Graeme? :)
