A few people have asked me what all the letters stand for in the posts I’ve written recently so I thought I’d use my non-existent creative skills to try and showcase some of them.

There are a lot of associations with interests in the Digital Signage space and, with the recent influx of human and capital resources into the industry (a very good thing), not everyone is aware of what some of the pioneers (associations and corporations) who have been working hard to make an impression for everyone over the last 5+ years have done or why they (associations) exist.

There’s a few more of these out there but take a look and I hope this clears up some of what I’ve written or at least gives you some more info to work from. I’d recommend reading up heavily on each groups’ various positions and approaches before jumping right in. Each association offers different benefits depending on what you produce/service:

I completely forgot to add one to this. The In-Store Marketing Institute is also a part of this mix. They’re the group tapped by P&G & Wal-Mart to isolate in-store Reach. Their mission states:

exists to enhance the work lives and businesses of brand marketers through research studies, education and training, networking opportunities, trade publications, and tradeshows designed to further the understanding, acceptance and effectiveness of in-store marketing.
