Traditional Media Deadpool
Filed Under Advertising, Digital Signage
I almost think I should be starting a second web site for this one - sort of a combination between F****edCompany.com from the dot com deadpool days and a Digg based voting system on whose budget is next…>
….but I’ll leave it here for now….and I need your help in flushing it out
Over the past few weeks, here’s some clippings on “traditional/measured media” budgets that have been decreased, publicly, in the news:

Company: GM
Amount: $600 million decrease in 9 month period ending Sep 2006 - See the Interpublic pain here

Company: Microsoft
Amount: $945 Million. VP Marketing publicly states that the majority of their $945 million media budget will be spent on digital channels only (by 2010)
Company: Johnson & Johnson
Amount: $250 million dollar decrease in annual media spend (a 20% slide from last year)
==========
That’s almost $2 Billion in traditional spend in 3 companies! To give you a point of reference, that’s 3% of the total TV spend in the US..or the amount of days in a year I actually eat breakfast.
I’m going to update this as I go along so it stays fresh but wanted to get it started
