I just found an interesting site for brands to get content made on the cheap:
Zoopa UserGenerated Content

The creator is an Italian guy now living in Brooklyn. He’s a little quirky but he tries to describe the service here: http://www.zooppa.com/contest/5#2

Basically,the idea is:

  • He approaches a brand who needs a commercial
  • He creates a “video brief” of what the client wants
  • Client supplies all required assets
  • Users create video ads
  • The ads are voted for and the best top 3 ads win $s

The site is currently young but I wrote about this coming up last month with regards to Home Depot and the creation of a Content Exchange for Digital Signage. See here: http://digitalads.wordpress.com/2007/01/18/digital-signage-content-exchange/

Now, creating content/creative for Digital Signage is, in itself, an art form but as this type of service matures, you can probably weed out some top performers who create exceptional content for the industry.

Mr. Zooppa reminds me of the crazy Irishman in Braveheart.

I like his loopy call for responses video. But the responses for the underwear commercial are pretty bad, from what I saw.

    Interesting concept.
